Peridot
- The vibrant green of peridot breathes the essence of a spring day, gaining its color from an idiochromatic composition of magnesium and iron. It represents prosperity, strength, and renewal.
- Mohs: 6.5 - 7.5 suitable for everyday wear with moderate toughness
- Care: An ultrasonic will not typically damage a peridot, but we recommend warm soapy water and if necessary, a soft bristle toothbrush, to clean peridot jewelry.
Rhodochrosite
- Rhodochrosite is known as the "stone of the compassionate heart" and some believe that its a powerful catalyst for emotional healing, self-love, and release of past hurt.
- Mohs: 3.5 - 4 softer stone, avoid impacting the stone
- Care: We recommend cleaning with warm soapy water and avoiding ultrasonic and steam cleaners, as well as, any products to avoid chemical damage to the soft gemstone.
Care
Wearing your jewelry frequently will help prevent tarnish as the natural oils from your skin create a protective barrier. Please remove your jewelry before sleeping, showering/swimming (hot tubs, pools, ocean, lakes, etc.), when applying any lotions/sprays/products to the body, or when jewelry may come in contact with any chemicals or cleaners. Store in a cool, dry place in a dedicated box or bag. Storing jewelry separately avoids pieces rubbing against each other which may affect the finish of your jewelry. To clean, use mild soap and warm water with a soft bristle toothbrush. We recommend avoiding polishing cloths for our jewelry as they will ruin the finish of gilded (bright white matte) pieces.
